We can all feel like we do not fit or belong in this life.
In this world, what is popular changes so fast.
Everyone has had a moment or more that they feel like they are Misfits.
This book is for you, for everyone that has ever felt like the odd man out.
Life is a messy, emotional roller coaster of pain, sorrow, and strife
It is balanced out with love, joy, fun, family, and friends.
Take time to enjoy the good times and learn from the hard ones.
I hope this book helps you to know that you are not alone;
That someone has fought with the same feelings.
In my younger years, I was a misfit, so I wore masks.
Join me as I look behind the masks of drama, love, loss, and passion.
Rabbi Efraim Williams volunteers to teach a class on Jewish sexual ethics to the students at a local Jewish high school. He wants to find an authentic middle ground between the strict observance of the ultra-Orthodox rabbi who teaches in the school and the sexual freedom of contemporary American life. Little does he imagine the challenges he will face from his students, his synagogue, the school, and ultimately his own family.
This novel combines a clear overview of Jewish sexual ethics and the compelling story of a rabbi facing career altering challenges.
Woven Prayers is a ministerial handbook based on Scriptures and prayers. It has 41 devotional lessons and eight crochet patterns divided into three areas: Personal Relationship with God, Interpersonal Relationship with Others, and Ministerial Relationship with the World. It allows opportunities for personal reflection and a discussion guide for small groups.
Reverend Evelyn Rainey has crocheted since she was 8 years old and has taught and still teaches crochet. For five years, she facilitated a Prayer Shawl Ministry. They crocheted caps for adjudicated youth felons, christening sets for newborn babies of unmarried teen parents, afghans for homeless women veterans, and shawls for anyone who needed comfort while going through times of illness, distress, or grief. Along the way, they faced many challenges and obstacles, but also learned a great deal both as a women’s group and as a ministry.
Whether you crochet at a beginner or master level, you can use this book individually for weekly devotions, or to form, facilitate and support your own Prayer Shawl Ministry. Bulk copies (orders of 12 or more) are available through the publisher at a discounted price to help encourage the establishment of prayer shawl ministries in churches. The book is sufficient to start and maintain a prayer shawl ministry, but Rev. Rainey is available for assistance via email and zoom.
