I will be posting mini-lessons on the videos at least once a week beginning March 23, 2020. I hope you get into the habit of watching each one and trying them.  Please contact me with questions or comments and I'll be happy to work with you via the internet.

Later, after this pandemic is over:

I will travel up to 20 miles from Bartow, Florida without charging mileage.

I will travel beyond 20 miles of Bartow, FL  for the going rate of $0.55 per mile (there and back).

I would PREFER to teach you in Bartow - ie, First Baptist Church of Bartow, Bartow Public Library or Starbucks. I am hoping to add other locations as our groups grow.

Hopes and Dreams

After the end of the coronovirus, I hope and dream of  renovating my house  and opening it up as a permanent location to house ShelteringTree.Earth. This will be a boutique and a conference center. Most of the time, this conference center will be used holding these crochet classes. The rest of the time, it can be rented out to women-centered organizations.

Basic Granny Squares

Concepts taught: basic granny squares and some diversity, turning, color changing, configuring the squares into afghans, math of areas, placement patterns, stitching, borders.

Granny Square Afghans bring to mind frugal housewives who use every scrap of yarn and waste nothing. The colors boast joy through hard times. The geometry reiterates repetitive patterns of colors, solids, and spaces bound together by one firm hue. Done as a whole (rather than small blocks), a GS Afghan embraces eternity, because it could keep growing and expanding with each new row.
